On Friday October 16 from 1-2.30 pm PT, Raka Ray (Sociology), Leslie Salzinger (Gender and Women’s Studies), and Tara Gonsalves (Sociology, moderator) will be discussing “Gender and Political Economy.”
The panel will discuss how scholars have conceived of gender and political economy. It will explore the mechanisms by which gendered relations of power are produced and reproduced through political and economic activity in the public and private spheres, and suggest how we might address these forms of exclusion through a renewal of the field of political economy.
